Saturday 28th March at 7.45 in St Swithun’s Church, Yateley
Yateley Choral Society reminds us that they are busy rehearsing for our Spring concert, on Saturday 28th March, and Quintin, the Music Director, has done us proud again with a delightful selection of music.
At the heart of our concert is Duruflé’s much-loved setting of the Requiem, based on ancient Gregorian plainchant but with the addition of a Romantic spirit to give the piece a multi-layered beauty. We will also be singing Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs and O, clap your hands, John Rutter’s arrangement of Amazing Grace and Fauré’s Tantum ergo.
As an extra treat, our cellist will perform Saint Saëns’ achingly beautiful The Swan.
We very much hope to see you on the 28th March at St Swithun’s Church, Yateley where the concert will start at 7.45pm. Come early to select a good seat and book your interval drinks at the bar.
